CATARACT
A cataract is a common eye condition where the natural lens of the eye becomes clouded, leading to blurry or distorted vision. This clouding occurs as proteins in the lens break down and clump together over time, often due to ageing, but can also be influenced by factors such as injury, certain medications, or underlying health conditions. Symptoms of cataracts may include difficulty seeing clearly, increased sensitivity to glare, and problems with night vision. Cataract surgery, a highly effective and safe procedure, involves removing the cloudy lens and replacing it with a clear artificial lens, restoring vision and improving quality of life.
